After three years of rehabilitation and expert guidance from a physical therapist, this hard work combined with good fortune allowed him to regain some measure of functional ability, which included being a Torchbearer for the 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Olympic Games.
He is currently the Executive Director of Neuroworx, a not-for-profit, innovative, community-based, outpatient physical therapy facility he co-founded with his physical therapist, Jan Black, in 2004. The clinic specializes in the rehabilitation of individuals with paralysis from spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries, stroke, and similar neurological conditions.
