Family of Patient to Run in Deseret News Classic as Fundraiser

SOUTH JORDAN, Utah – Neuroworx is pleased to announce that the family of Stephen Merrill will be running the Deseret News Classic Marathon in Salt Lake City, Utah on July 24, 2014 in order to raise $2,281 for the Neuroworx 2281 Fund. They have chosen to name the fundraising event 26.2 for 27 Visits.

Three years ago Stephen was badly injured in a gymnastics accident that left him paralyzed from the shoulders down. His family loves him dearly and have grown closer as a family as they have watched his amazing strength throughout his journey to recovery.

They have been impressed with the remarkable care given to Stephen and others at Neuroworx—where care is provided regardless of ability to pay. This requires a special fund to ensure that everyone receives the care that they need.

Early in the history of Neuroworx, the co-founders created a therapy package that included twenty-seven visits. They tried to make it as affordable as possible based on cost and came up with a value of $2,281. Ten years later, that same amount still provides twenty-seven therapy visits.

Over the course of the next two months, the family will ask for your donations in order to reach their final goal of $2,281. Every mile of the marathon will provide one life-changing therapy session.
